ANALISIS KESTABILAN LERENG MENGGUNAKAN PENGINDRAAN JAUH, DAERAH KUBANG TENGAH DAN SEKITARNYA, KECAMATAN LEMBAH SEGAR, KOTA SAWAHLUNTO, PROVINSI SUMATERA BARAT

The location of this research is in the Central Kubang area, Lembah Segar District, Sawahlunto City, West Sumatra Province. This research is a follow-up study to the geological mapping and observations carried out previously. Regionally, the Central Kubang area and its surroundings are included in the Ombilin Basin, which is an intramontane basin or basin located between mountain ranges on the island of Sumatra. Due to its position, the Ombilin Basin also has an interesting surface morphology with layers of mountains and hills. The Ombilin Basin has diverse geological characteristics including old rocks of Pre-Tertiary age which form the edges and basement of the Ombilin Basin which then experience complex structural styles and Tertiary depositional patterns which can be used as a model to know and understand the depositional environment that occurred on the island of Sumatra during Early Tertiary. Based on field observations, there are several observation locations that indicate landslides in the research area. Analysis of slope stability in the research area apart from using field observation methods also uses remote sensing methods with vegetation indices and relief diversity. The landslide hazard map was processed by overlaying it on ArcGIS software with the Weighted Overlay type. Overlay is carried out on the 9 parameters that have been explained. Based on the overlay results obtained, most of the research areas indicate that they are prone to landslides. According to the National Disaster Management Agency, the research area has a community exposure index to landslides, which is moderate. The vulnerability to landslides is higher in the hills than in lowland locations with a moderate risk of landslides. Based on the index of vulnerability and exposure to landslides in the research area, it can be seen that for assessing the risk of landslides in the research area, the risk is moderate (0.66). There are several efforts to mitigate landslide disasters, including managing sloping slopes. If a slope has a slope > 20% then it is best to cut the slope. This aims to ensure that the slope is not too sloping so as to reduce the possibility of landslides. Apart from cutting slopes, agricultural areas or terraces can also be created on sloping slopes so that there will be more vegetation and the slopes will be less steep. Vegetation greatly influences the stability of slopes, so choosing vegetation is important to avoid the danger of landslides. Good vegetation for land with a high level of landslide susceptibility is vegetation that has lots of fibrous roots so that it has binding capacity and reduces soil movement, such as durian, mahogany, jackfruit, and so on. Slopes also need to be checked regularly, this aims to see whether there is land that is indicated by landslides so that if there is land that starts to experience cracks or is indicated by landslides, it can be responded to quickly.
