HUBUNGAN KADAR LAJU ENDAP DARAH DAN HIGH-SENSITIVITY C-REACTIVE PROTEIN DENGAN LOW BACK PAIN DI POLIKLINIK REUMATOLOGI RS MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Low Back Pain is one of the most frequently encountered musculoskeletal complaints in healthcare settings and is associated with activity limitation, reduced productivity, and impaired quality of life. Inflammatory processes are believed to contribute to the pathophysiology of LBP, particularly in conditions related to autoimmune diseases, leading to the use of systemic inflammatory biomarkers such as erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) to assess inflammatory involvement. This cross-sectional observational study aimed to evaluate the relationship between ESR and hsCRP levels and inflammatory versus non-inflammatory LBP. The findings demonstrated that ESR and hsCRP were neither significantly associated with nor significantly different between inflammatory and non-inflammatory LBP, although higher hsCRP levels tended to be observed in inflammatory LBP. These results suggest that ESR and hsCRP alone have limited utility as independent markers for distinguishing LBP subtypes.
