EVALUASI AVAILABILITY AND UTILIZATION PERALATAN PEMUATAN OVERBURDEN PADA BULAN FEBRUARI 2025 DI LOKASI PIT LS PT TATA BARA UTAMA SUMATERA SELATAN
Excavators are one of the main loading equipment used in overburden mining activities. The effectiveness of excavator operations is influenced by the level of Physical Availability (PA), with a minimum standard of 90% according to KEPMEN ESDM No. 1827 K/30/MEM/2018. However, in practice, this standard is often not achieved. This study was conducted at Pit LS, PT Tata Bara Utama, in February 2025 to determine the values of physical availability, mechanical availability, and effective working hours, as well as to evaluate and compare the performance of each excavator unit. The research methods included field orientation, collection of primary and secondary data, and data processing using Microsoft Excel. The analyzed parameters consisted of Physical Availability (PA), Mechanical Availability (MA), Usage Availability (UA), and Effective Utilization (EU). The results show that Caterpillar EX-2015 (2 years old) and EX-2052 (1 year old) had high PA values of 95.11% and 97,67%, with MA values of 93,77 % and 97 %. In contrast, Kobelco EX-5061 and EX-5063 (4 years old) only had PA values of 54,76 % and 38.95%, with MA values of 48,78% and 31,86%. These low values were caused by high repair hours (304 hours and 410.2 hours), which resulted in effective working hours of 289,6 and 191,8 hours, far below the targets of 534,2 and 541,8 hours. This indicates a relationship between equipment age and the decline of mechanical condition, which directly affects physical availability and operational effectiveness.
