PERUBAHAN SISTEM DALAM TRADISI “LELANG MAKANAN” (PADA ADAT PERNIKAHAN MASYARAKAT OGAN DI DESA TANABANG KECAMATAN MUARA KUANG KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR)
This research discusses System Change in the Lelang Makanan Tradition using the study of Herbert Blumer Symbolic interaction theory. The Lelang Makanan tradition is a hereditary cultural heritage of the people of Tanabang Village, Muara Kuang Subdistrict, Ogan Ilir Regency. This tradition aims to strengthen social ties in the community and now its practice has developed into a family tradition in weddings. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a semiotic research approach strategy to explore the shifting meanings contained therein. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the procession of the Lelang Makanan tradition was carried out during the wedding reception after the official program ended. Some symbols in this tradition have deep meaning for the community and the bride and groom. Changes in the traditional to modern implementation system occurred due to cultural adaptation, the use of a recording system for auction parcels that were originally spontaneous became recorded. In addition, the implementation has changed from the evening which used to be a social class contest to during the day, and now this tradition is considered as part of the Family Tradition.
