SIMULASI CRASHWORTHINESS EASIEST TO BREAK RANGKA PELINDUNG SENSOR SRIFADA DARI ALUMINIUM ALLOY 2024
This study investigates the "easiest to break" collision characteristics of a sensor protective frame designed from Aluminium Alloy 2024 for the runway flood monitoring system at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang. Three variations of the sensor frame design were simulated using finite element analysis (FEA) software to assess their response to impact loading from aircraft wheels skidding during landing. The results show that Design 2 exhibits the highest equivalent (von Mises) stress (22,228 MPa), the lowest safety factor (0.012597), and low momentum (109.82 N⋅s) compared to the other designs. This data indicates that Design 2 of the sensor protective frame meets the required criteria and is the most susceptible to damage under simulated collision conditions. This study highlights the importance of breakability and damageability in the design of protective structures for airport sensor systems to ensure flight safety.
