Ecotourism is an activity that links tourism activities with aspects of nature conservation, socio-cultural economy and aspects of learning and education. Ecotourism is derived from the term ecotourism which means ecological tourism. From this, ecotourism is a form of tourist travel to natural areas that is carried out with the aim of conserving the environment and preserving the lives and welfare of local residents. Conservation is a maintenance activity according to local situations and conditions. Conservation can include the scope of restoration, reconstruction, adaptation and preservation. The purpose of conservation itself is to realize the preservation of biological natural resources and their ecosystems, so that they can support efforts to improve the welfare and quality of human life. In general, mangrove forests are defined as forests that grow in tidal areas whose plant communities have tolerance to salt. Mangrove forests have several functions such as ecological functions such as a place to find food (feeding ground), nursery ground and spawning ground for various types of biota in the sea. The purpose of the research that the researchers conducted was to inventory the potential that exists on Sand Embossed Island, and develop strategies in developing Sand Embossed Island, Sungsang IV Village as an ecotourism object.
