ANALISIS STABILISASI DAN PEMANTAUAN LERENG TIMBUNAN BACKFILLING PIT SATU BANKO BARAT PT. BUKIT ASAM (PERSERO) TBK, TANJUNG ENIM, SUMATERA SELATAN
PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk., a state-owned coal mining company, operates in the Tanjung Enim area of South Sumatra with a Mining Business Permit (IUP) covering 66,414 hectares. Coal extraction is carried out using an open-pit surface mining method, where overburden is excavated and transported to designated waste dump or backfilling areas. The Tanjung Enim Mining Unit (UPTE) consists of three main operational zones: Air Laya, Muara Tiga Besar, and Banko Barat. Backfilling slopes are generally more susceptible to ground movement compared to in-situ material slopes, increasing the potential for instability that may disrupt mining operations and compromise work safety. Therefore, conducting a proper slope stability analysis is essential to ensure safe and optimal slope design. This study examines slope monitoring and stabilization efforts for backfilling slopes in Pit 1 East Banko Barat as part of preventive measures against landslides that could pose operational risks. The analysis includes slope geometry modeling and the calculation of the Factor of Safety (FoS) using geotechnical software. Regular monitoring is also emphasized to detect early signs of slope movement that may indicate instability. The findings of this study are expected to provide appropriate recommendations for slope design and stabilization techniques to enhance the safety and efficiency of mining operations.
