UJI TOKSISITAS DAN ANALISIS HISTOLOGI GONAD IKAN BETOK (Anabas testudineus) YANG TERPAPAR LOGAM BERAT TIMBAL (Pb)

Rumahorbo, Paulina Lorenza - Personal Name;

Heavy metal lead, commonly found in industrial waste, is toxic to aquatic organisms. Its presence in water can harm organisms such as climbing perch. Lead can cause liver damage, close the gill membrane, and even lead to death in fish. Additionally, it can cause reproductive disorders, inhibit vitellogenin induction, delay oogenesis, increase hormone secretion, and decrease gonadal somatic index parameters and ovulation in fish. This study aims to conduct toxicity tests and analyze the LC50-96 hour value of Pb (NO3)2 lead compounds using climbing perch as test animals on a laboratory scale. The study also seeks to analyze tissue damage to climbing perch gonads. The research was carried out at the Aquaculture Laboratory and Experimental Pond, Aquaculture Study Program, Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sriwijaya, and the Fish Quarantine Center for Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Products, Palembang in December-January 2024. Acute toxicity tests, including preliminary and basic tests, were conducted. The determination of LC50-96 hours was analyzed using the probit method, and the density of climbing perch used was 1 fish L-1. The treatments used were P0, the control treatment (without Pb contamination); P1, the addition of Pb with a concentration of 0.1 mg mg L-1, P2 0.2 mg mg L-1 and P3 0.3 mg L-1. The results of probit analysis of heavy metal Pb obtained an LC50-96 hours value of 0.2 mg L-1. The results showed that exposure to lead (Pb) influences the female gonadal tissue of climbing perch, as higher concentrations led to increased death and damage to the gonadal tissue.
