PENERAPAN PEWARNAAN GRAF DENGAN ALGORITMA WELCH POWELL PADA PENYUSUNAN PENJADWALAN MATAKULIAH SEMESTER GANJIL JURUSAN MATEMATIKA FAKULTAS MIPA UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
This study aims to obtain a course schedule based on graph coloring with the Welch Powell algorithm. The coloring method used is vertex coloring. This study uses data from 37 courses in the odd semester of 2022/2023, consisting of 20 compulsory courses, 17 elective courses, and 23 lecturer-directed courses. Collecting data on the list of odd semester courses and the names of the lecturers in charge of the Mathematics Department, defining vertices and edges, creating a 37×37 adjacency matrix, the vertex with the highest degree has degree eight and the vertex with the lowest degree has degree two, drawing a graph based on the adjacency matrix, and coloring the graph. The results of the study show that the chromatic number γ(G)= 5, namely red, orange, yellow, green, and blue. These five colors are defined as day 1, day 2, day 3, day 4, and day 5, so the schedule is structured in five days. Of the 37 courses distributed over five days, which turned out to be uneven, day 1 has ten courses, day 2 has six courses, day 3 has nine courses, day 4 has ten courses, and day 5 has two courses
