The Building Permit is one of the permits overseen by the Palembang City Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD). This permit aims to regulate buildings in Palembang City and manage city planning. This study aims to analyze the DPRD’s oversight of Building Permits. Yohanes Yahya (2006) suggests that supervision has a process or stages, including establishing implementation standards, determining implementation measures, measuring implementation, comparing implementation standards, and taking corrective action. This study used a qualitative methodology explained descriptively. The results of this study indicate that IMB supervision remains ineffective due to a lack of human resource capacity and the development of community participation in IMB supervision.
