PERAN MIGRANT CARE DALAM ADVOKASI KEKERASAN PEKERJA MIGRAN INDONESIA DI MALAYSIA TAHUN 2018-2023
This thesis aims to analyze Migrant CARE's advocacy strategies in fighting for the rights and protection of Indonesian migrant workers (PMI), especially in Malaysia. Through symbolic politics, accountability politics, and leverage politics approaches, Migrant CARE conducts various advocacy efforts to raise public awareness, pressuring governments and destination countries to be responsible, and strengthening cross-national collaborations. These strategies include campaigns, rights socialization, legal assistance, and symbolic actions that deliver provocative messages and evoke emotional responses from the public and policymakers. The results indicate that the success of Migrant CARE’s advocacy is heavily influenced by the use of symbols, community collaborations, and narrative strategies that build moral pressure on stakeholders. Recommendations highlight the importance of innovative communication strategies and international cooperation to sustain and strengthen the protection of migrant workers’ rights.
