KUALITAS FERMENTATIF SILASE SECARA IN VITRO DARI RUMPUT RAJA (PENNISETUM PURPUPHOIDES) DENGAN PERLAKUAN AEROBISITAS DAN WAKTU PELAYUAN BERBEDA
This study aims to determine the fermentative quality of king grass silage with aerobicity treatment and different lengths of weathering time in vitro. This research was conducted in December 2023 - February 2024 at the Animal Husbandry Study Program Cage, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University and analyzed at the Animal Nutrition and Food Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This research was conducted using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) 2x4 factorial pattern, factor A is aerobicity (A1 aerobic conditions/ without vacuuming, A2 anaerobic conditions/vacuuming) and factor B is wilting time (B1: 0 hours; B2: 2 hours; B3: 4 hours; and B4; 6 hours) with 4 replicates in each treatment combination. The parameters observed were pH, total Volatile Fatty Acid (VFA), NH3 which were analyzed with RStudio software and Duncan test. The results showed that anaerobic conditions can reduce in vitro pH from 6.98 (A1) to 6.59 (A2), 4 hours of aging time can increase the value of total VFA concentration from 49.44 mM (B0) to 121.25 mM (B3), and the interaction between anaerobic conditions and 4 hours of aging time can increase total VFA concentration from 30.00 mM (A1B1) to 125.00 mM (A2B3), and no significant effect was found for the value of N-NH3 concentration.
