GAMBARAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN TENTANG BANTUAN HIDUP DASAR PADA SATUAN PENGAMAN DI UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA

Emergency services are one of the important services when a traffic accident occurs, in Indonesia itself as many as 59.38% of security units have insufficient knowledge regarding BHD, this is directly proportional to the behavior shown by 64.58% having poor behavior in handling BHD. The purpose of the Study was to determine the description of knowledge level about basic life support in security units at Sriwijaya University. This type of study was quantitative research with a descriptive approach. The measuring instrument used was a questionnaire about knowledge of basic life support, then the data was analyzed using a univariate analysis test in the form of a frequency distribution. The population in this study were all SATPAM(security) officers at Sriwijaya University. The samples in this study were 55 people, using the proportionate stratified random sampling technique. The results of the study showed that most of them had a high level of knowledge about BHD (60.0%). The data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis techniques presented in a frequency distribution table. Based on the results of this study, it is still very necessary to provide increased knowledge to Satpam (security) about BHD so that they can provide assistance more quickly if an accident occurs around Sriwijaya University, so that they can be helped immediately and appropriately.
