GAMBARAN PEMBERIAN ASI EKSKLUSIF DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS BATU BETUMPANG

The Global Strategy for Infant and Young Child Feeding by the World Health Organization (WHO) and United Nations International Children's (UNICEF) recommends the best feeding pattern for infants from birth to two years old to improve their health quality. These include initiating breastfeeding within one hour after birth, exclusive breastfeeding until six months of age, complementary feeding alongside breast milk from six to 12 months, and continued breastfeeding until the child is 12 months or more. The purpose of this study was to describe the practices of exclusive breastfeeding in the working area of Batu Betumpang Community Health Center. This quantitative research used a descriptive approach. The study population consisted of all breastfeeding mothers in the working area of Batu Betumpang Community Health Center, totaling 54 respondents. The results showed that there were internal factors that influenced maternal breastfeeding practices, such as age, education, occupation, and knowledge. There were also external factors that affected maternal breastfeeding practices, including breastfeeding experience, family support, and health workers' support. The data were analyzed and presented in descriptive analysis form. This study suggests that further research should be conducted with a larger sample size to obtain more representative results.
