EFEKTIVITAS METODE INJEKSI WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT DIBANDING METODE KONVENSIONAL DI PT POWERINDO KIMIA MINERAL JOBSITE PT BARA ANUGERAH SEJAHTERA
Acid mine drainage is a common issue in coal mining. The acid mine drainage in the collection ponds or sumps must be properly managed to meet existing environmental quality standards. According to the water quality standards in Regulation of the Governor of South Sumatra Number 8 of 2012, the pH limit for acid mine drainage is between 6 and 9, and the TSS (Total Suspended Solids) limit is 300. At PT Bara Anugerah Sejahtera, the initial condition of acid mine drainage showed a pH of 6 and TSS of 6140, which does not meet the existing environmental quality standards. Therefore, water treatment using chemicals is required to meet these standards before the water can be discharged into the river. The treatment of acid mine drainage involves using POWERBASE 3028,POWERCLEAR 1228, POWERFLOC 1913, and Aluminum Sulfate (alum) through two methods: injectionwaste water treatment plantand conventional methods. The results of the acid mine drainage tests using the injection method with doses of POWERBASE 3028 ranging from 375 to 450 ppm, POWERCLEAR 1228 from 175 to 200 ppm, and POWERFLOC 1913 at 15 ppm showed a final pH of 9 and 10 and a final TSS of 72 ppm, 13 ppm and 10 ppm. On the other hand, the results of the acid mine drainage tests using the conventional method with doses of limeranging from 200 to 450 ppm and Aluminum Sulfate from 100 to 300 ppm showed a final pH of 7 to 10 and a final TSS of 4600 ppm and 5720 ppm. The addition of Aluminum Sulfate at 100 to 300 ppm in the injection method resulted in a pH of 7 to 10.
