PROFIL VEGETASI HABITAT SIAMANG (Symphalangus syndactylus Raffles, 1821) DI TALANG TAMPAAN KAWASAN SUAKA MARGASATWA ISAU-ISAU SUMATERA SELATAN
The ecosystems diversity and unique of geology in Indonesia causes high endemicity of flora, fauna, and microbes. South Sumatra Province has an endemic primate, namely Siamang (Symphalangus syndactylus) that protected because threatend by extinct due to degradation of its forest habitat and hunting for pets. This research aims to determine the vegetation profile of the Siamang habitat and to identify plants of food sources of Siamang in Talang Tampaan Isau-Isau Wildlife Reserve Area, South Sumatra. This research was carried out from December 2023 to January 2024. The method used was the plot line transect method. The plot line transect method was created in three types of habitat, namely in Primary Forest, Secondary Forest and Watershed (DAS). Vegetation data for each habitat is collected to create a profile diagram. The profile diagram is projected vertically and horizontally. There are a total of 36 species and 24 plant families in the tree category of the three habitats. Twenty species of them are food sources for Siamang. The largest Importance Value Index (INP) of trees in all three habitats contigously are Mahang (Macaranga pruinose) as a food source, Balik Angin (Mallotus paniculatus) as a resting tree, and Loa (Ficus racemose) as a food source. Primary Forest is denser than the other two habitats. The diversity of secondary forest food sources is the highest. Keyword : Gibbon, Habitat Vegetation, Talang Tampaan, Importance index
