MOTIF REMAJA MEMANFAATKAN RUANG PUBLIK PERKOTAAN DI TAMAN SIMPANG POLDA PALEMBANG

This research focuses on teenagers' motives for using urban public spaces at the Simpang Polda Palembang Park. This research is descriptive qualitative in nature which describes descriptive data from the phenomenon studied. In determining informants, the technique used was purposive sampling, which aims to obtain more detailed information according to the problem being studied. The strategy used in research is phenomenology, with data collection techniques in the form of observations, observations, interviews and documentation. Then the collected data was analyzed phenomenologically and triangulated. The results of this research show that teenagers' motives for using public spaces are in the form of because of motive and in order to motive. Because of the motives for teenagers to use public spaces, namely for reasons of strategic location and cost savings, comfortable environmental conditions, and no monitoring by related parties at the Palembang Regional Police Simpang Park. Meanwhile, in order to motive, the aim of teenagers in using urban public spaces is to increase friendships, increase endurance, and for personal pleasure, namely dating.
