This thesis is entitled "Social Conflict in Non-Cash Food Assistance Program in Batay Village Community, Gumay Talang Kelapa District, Lahat Regency". The problem taken in this study is how the background causes of social conflicts in the Non- Cash Food Assistance Program (BPNT) in the community of Gumay Talang District and how to overcome social conflicts in Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT). This research is qualitative research, Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The result of this study is the existence of four backgrounds of social conflicts in Batay Gumay Talang Village against the BPNT program. Among other things, the distribution of BPNT is not right on target where local governments do not update community data in accordance with current conditions, because old data of people who are classified as poor may in the following years have experienced economic changes. In addition, old data that is still used today without renewal is a factor in the occurrence of social conflicts. Then poor communication, less open local government and differences in interests. With the existence of social conflicts that occur, there are ways to overcome so that social conflicts do not occur prolongedly or prevent them before the conflict occurs. There are several ways to overcome social conflicts themselves, among others, negotiations, conciliation, mediation and also arbitration.
