KERJASAMA INDONESIA DAN VIETNAM DI BIDANG PERTAHANAN BERDASARKAN MoU TAHUN 2010

International cooperation in the defense sector is carried out with the aim of building trust between countries, with the principle of respecting each other's sovereignty and not interfering in the internal affairs of other countries. This research aims to understand the cooperation agreement in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on Strengthening of Cooperation between Defence Officials and it is Related Activities during the 2010-2023 period. This research uses Baviera's (2001) defense diplomacy indicators which consist of communication, transparency, consultation, goodwill, CBM economics, CBM socio cultural and CBM politics. A qualitative descriptive analysis approach was used in this research with the main data source coming from literature studies with analysis stages including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Of the seven indicators, five of them have been implemented well by both countries, namely communication, transparency, consultation, kindness and socio-cultural CBM. Defense diplomacy between Indonesia and Vietnam is related confidence building measure (CBM) is very precise. Strategic cooperation efforts involving joint military exercises and purchasing defense equipment are significant steps in building defense capacity of the two countries.
