PERENCANAAN DAN PERANCANGAN RUSUNAWA DI KOTA PALEMBANG

Planning and designing simple flats (rusunawa) is an urgent need due to the high urbanization in Palembang City. Therefore, urbanization is an important factor in driving demand for efficient and affordable vertical housing such as Rusunawa. Most of the existing flats that currently exist do not pay attention to accessibility for wheelchair users, thus encouraging the demand for solutions in urban areas, more precisely in densely populated areas in the city of Palembang. With a population density that is not balanced with the availability of residential land, the aim is to design flats that are friendly, safe and comfortable for wheelchair users in the Gandus area of Palembang City. The design concept is applied with an inclusive design approach with the application of optimizing accessibility for wheelchair users. The mass of the flats is made by adjusting the direction of the road and the direction of the sun from east to west with the aim of maximizing natural lighting. With the planning and design of this flat, it is hoped that it can be a solution for the city of Palembang, especially the Gandus area.
