The purpose of this study is to determine the role of social support towards caregiver burden in caregivers of the elderly with chronic illnesses. The hypothesis presented in this study is that there is a role of social support towards caregiver burden in caregivers of the elderly with chronic illnesses. The population used were caregivers of the elderly with chronic illnesses. The number of samples in this study were 79 caregivers of the chronically ill elderly and 30 caregivers of the chronically ill elderly for the try out data. The purposive sampling technique was used in this study. This study uses measuring instruments that refer to the social support dimensions of Cutrona, Russell, and Rose (1986) and the caregiver burden dimensions of Robinson (1983).
