PERENCANAAN DAN PERANCANGAN PASAR TRADISIONAL DI MERANGIN, JAMBI
The current situation of traditional markets in Merangin Regency, especially in Pasar Baru Bangko, is still lacking in facilities, mixed market space zoning, lack of parking areas, and chaotic pedestrian circulation. Therefore, the fundamental aspects for planning and designing this traditional market are to relocate traders who do not have stalls to trade into the market building, so that this can regulate traders who sell in any place. Apart from that, the market building will also better organize the zoning area and create directed pedestrian circulation. The mass of the market building extends from east to west with the aim of maximizing natural lighting. The market building is also divided into 2 masses, the first mass is the dry market zone which is in the front area of the site, while the second mass is the wet market zone area. The wet market zone is placed in the back area of the site with the aim of ensuring that the odors produced from the wet market do not disturb the front area of the site which is the main point of the market building. For the design of this traditional market building, the Green Architecture concept approach will be used by implementing buildings that are environmentally friendly and can optimize natural energy in the area where the market building is located.
