FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN STRES KERJA PADA GURU SMA/SEDERAJAT DENGAN KURIKULUM CAMBRIDGE DI KOTA PALEMBANG TAHUN 2025

Nurhaliza, Anggun Wafiq - Personal Name;

Work-related stress is a condition that can affect the mental health of workers, including those in the education sector. High school teachers using the Cambridge Curriculum face complex professional challenges and high performance demands, which can potentially cause work-related stress. This study aims to analyze the factors associated with work-related stress among high school teachers in Palembang City. The research design used was quantitative with a cross-sectional approach, involving 73 respondents from a total population of 268 teachers selected through proportional random sampling. Data were analyzed using the ChiSquare test. The results showed that the majority of teachers experienced workrelated stress (52.1%). There was a significant association between work-related stress and the variables of age (p-value = 0.048), marital status (p-value = 0.018), employment status (p-value = 0.012), interpersonal relationships (p-value = 0.001), social support (superiors) (p-value = 0.28), social support (colleagues) (p-value = 0.014), role (p-value = 0.003), and organizational changes (p-value = 0.012). Meanwhile, gender (p-value = 0.483), length of service (p-value = 0.438), job demands (p-value = 0.812), and control over work (p-value = 0.076) did not show a significant relationship with work-related stress. This study concludes that age, marital status, employment status, interpersonal relationships, job control, social support (supervisors), role, and organizational changes contribute to teachers' work stress levels, while gender, years of service, job demands, and social support (colleagues) do not have a significant effect. Therefore, it is recommended that educational institutions evaluate their workload systems, provide psychosocial support, and develop policies responsive to teachers' needs to minimize the risk of work-related stres.
