PERSEPSI PENANGGUNGJAWAB MUTU TENTANG STANDAR AKREDITASI SASARAN KESELAMATAN PASIEN UNIT TRANSFUSI DARAH DI KOTA PALEMBANG

The Patient Safety Goals (PSG) accreditation standard is a mandatory requirement that Blood Transfusion Units (BTUs) must meet to achieve accreditation and prevent risks that could harm patients. The Ministry of Health aims for 100% of BUs to be accredited by 2024, but the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) BTU in Palembang, which plays a strategic role in South Sumatra Province, has not yet been accredited. This study aims to investigate the perceptions of BTU quality managers regarding the PSG and the factors related to experience and knowledge that influence these perceptions. The method used is descriptive qualitative research employing in-depth interviews, observations, and document reviews. The study participants were selected through purposive sampling and comprised six individuals: the head and members of the quality management team at the PMI BTU in South Sumatra Province and the PMI BTU in Palembang City. The results of this study indicate that quality control officers have 1–5 years of work experience in BTU quality control, and most have participated in online training related to quality control. Quality control officers have a fairly good understanding of quality aspects but do not fully understand patient safety points in the SKP standards. Quality control officers demonstrate good perceptions of blood identification standards and infection reduction standards. However, perceptions related to effective communication standards remain a challenge due to the absence of specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and suboptimal staff understanding. The conclusion of this study is that the quality manager's perception is already quite good, but it still needs to be optimised, especially regarding effective communication standards. The recommendations from this study are to participate in quality and patient safety training in person, develop SOPs, provide direct technical assistance, and conduct regular evaluations by relevant parties.
