FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMENGARUHI KEJADIAN BAYI BERAT LAHIR RENDAH DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG TAHUN 2024
Background: Low birth weight (LBW) is a condition in which an infant is born weighing less than 2,500 grams, regardless of gestational age. LBW is an important indicator of perinatal health because it can lead to both short-term and long-term complications, such as growth impairment, increased risk of chronic diseases, and neonatal mortality. The occurrence of LBW is multifactorial, influenced by maternal factors, fetal factors, and placental abnormalities. Previous studies have identified various risk factors for LBW; however, most have focused only on specific groups of variables and have not simultaneously incorporated maternal, fetal, and placental factors. In addition, no similar research has been conducted at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang. This study aims to analyze the factors associated with the occurrence of LBW at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang in 2024. Methods: This study employed an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach, using secondary data from medical records at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang from January to December 2024. The sample was obtained using a total sampling method, resulting in 332 subjects. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test and logistic regression. Results: The incidence of LBW showed that 217 infants (65.4%) were born with low birth weight. Factors that were found to significantly influence LBW were maternal age at risk (p = 0.023), low maternal education level (p = 0.000), gestational age
