PENGEMBANGAN GAME PLATFORMER PADA PLATFORM ROBLOX MENGGUNAKAN METODE GAME DEVELOPMENT LIFE CYCLE (GDLC)
The rapid growth of the global game industry has positioned Roblox as a popular creative ecosystem platform; however, game development within it requires a structured approach to ensure gameplay quality. This study aims to develop a mountain climbing-themed platformer game on the Roblox platform by applying the Game Development Life Cycle (GDLC) method and measuring the quality of its user experience. The research method adopts the GDLC framework consisting of initiation, pre-production, production, alpha testing, beta testing, and release stages, where technical development is carried out using Roblox Studio and the Luau programming language. Functional testing was conducted using black box testing, while the user experience evaluation involved 100 respondents using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) instrument. The results showed that all game features functioned according to the design without technical errors, and the UEQ testing resulted in a very positive response with all dimensions including Attractiveness, Perspicuity, Efficiency, Dependability, Stimulation, and Novelty achieving the Excellent category in the benchmark. It is concluded that the implementation of the GDLC method proves effective in creating a stable and engaging platformer game in the Roblox environment, capable of meeting user expectations through responsive and innovative gameplay mechanisms.
