INVESTIGATING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MULTIMODAL LEARNING IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING AT AN INCLUSIVE SCHOOL IN PALEMBANG
The aim of this research was to find out how the multimodal learning in the English learning process implemented by an English teacher of an inclusive junior high school. The participants for this research were 3 English teachers. This research applied qualitative descriptive analysis technique and the data were collected by using a structured interview. The findings showed that there were three stages of multimodal learning implemented by the participants: 1) pre-teaching stage which included teachers’ competencies pedagogically, 2) while teaching stage which covered the teaching strategies and media selection, and 3) post teaching stage which involved reflection and scoring. In general, the multimodal learning process carried out by the participants is partially different from regular classes, with slight modifications to various strategies and learning processes, especially in the involvement of the students with special needs.
