GAMBARAN FAKTOR RISIKO TUBERKULOSIS KONTAK SERUMAH
Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that remains a major public health problem in Indonesia. TB transmission often occurs within households through close contact with infected individuals. This study aims to identify the risk factors associated with TB occurrence among household contacts of TB patients at Siti Fatimah Regional Hospital, South Sumatra. This research employed a descriptive cross-sectional design involving 79 respondents who were family members living in the same household as TB patients. Data were collected through interviews using structured questionnaires covering respondent’s characteristics, knowledge, preventive behaviors, and home environmental conditions. The results showed that most respondents were within the productive age group, had a secondary level of education, and generally possessed limited knowledge about TB. Environmental factors such as home ventilation and lighting were mostly adequate, with only a small proportion not meeting health standards. It is concluded that knowledge, preventive behavior, and housing conditions play an important role in the risk of TB transmission among household contacts. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen education and active screening programs involving community health workers and health cadres to enhance early detection and prevention of TB transmission. Keywords: Tuberculosis, household contacts, risk factors, vaccination coverage, ventilation conditions.
