INDEKS TROMBOSIT SEBAGAI PREDIKTOR REMISI PASIEN LEUKEMIA LIMFOBLASTIK AKUT ANAK

Putri, Sheila Calysta Wiryanata - Personal Name;

Background. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) is the most common hematologic malignancy in children, characterized by abnormal lymphoblastic. Prognosis and treatment evaluation are generally performed through invasive bone marrow examination as gold standard. Therefore, non-invasive hematological parameters are needed to predict prognosis. Platelet involved in bone marrow activation and hemostasis represented by indices such as Mean Platelet Volume (MPV), Platelet Distribution Width (PDW), and Platelet Large Cell Ratio (P-LCR). Several international studies have showed correlation between platelet indices and remission outcomes in pediatric ALL patients. However, similar studies in Indonesia remain limited. Methods. This study used an analytical observational design with a retrospective cohort approach. The study population consisted pediatric ALL patients treated at Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang from 2020 to 2025 under the 2018 Indonesian Pediatric Society (IDAI) protocol. Samples were obtained using a total sampling technique, resulting in 95 subjects met the inclusion criteria. Data were collected from medical records and central laboratory units then analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods with the Chi-square and Fisher’s exact tests. Results. Most pediatric ALL patients were aged 1–10 years (84,2%), male (62.1%), with high-risk stratification (61,1%), and achieved remission (57,9%). The data distribution showed that MPV and PDW were not normally distributed, while P-LCR had a normal distribution. The cut-off point related to remission were MPV >10,3 fL, PDW ≤ 11,7 fL, and P-LCR > 27,2%. Bivariate analysis revealed no significant association between MPV, PDW, and P-LCR and remission outcome (p > 0,05). Conclusion. MPV, PDW, and P-LCR showed no significant association with remission in pediatric ALL. Keyword. Platelet Indices, Mean Platelet Volume (MPV), Platelet Distribution Width (PDW), dan Platelet Large Cell Ratio (P-LCR), Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, ALL Remission
