GAMBARAN FEAR OF INTIMACY PADA DEWASA AWAL DENGAN ORANG TUA BERCERAI

Fear of intimacy is a condition in individuals that refers to their inhibited capacity to form intimate relationships. This study aims to describe the fear of intimacy in early adults whose parents are divorced. In this study, the population consists of early adults whose parents are divorced, with the total population size unknown to the researcher. The participants in this study were 480 early adults whose parents are divorced. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. This study uses the fear of intimacy scale based on the aspects of fear of intimacy by Descrutner and Thelen (1991), which include content, emotional valence, and vulnerability. The fear of intimacy scale consists of 24 items with a Cronbach's alpha coefficient of 0.942. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis. The results, based on the categorization of the subjects of the research variable, show that the level of fear of intimacy in early adults with divorced parents is high, with a frequency of 243 people or 50.6%. Additionally, the researcher found significant differences in the current dating duration factor and the average dating duration based on the Kruskal-Wallis test.
