SONGPALAR : INOVASI AUGMENTED REALITY PEMBELAJARAN INTERAKTIF DAN PELESTARIAN SONGKET PALEMBANG
This study aims to develop the SongPalar application based on Augmented Reality (AR) as a medium for learning and promoting Palembang Songket culture to support the preservation of local cultural heritage. The background of this study is based on the low utilization of digital technology in the promotion and education of Palembang Songket, as well as the lack of awareness among the younger generation of its historical and philosophical values. The development method refers to the Luther-Sutopo model, namely the Multimedia Development Life Cycle with six main stages, namely concept, design, material collection, assembly, testing, and distribution. At the concept stage, the application was designed to introduce songket motifs interactively in the form of 3D objects that can be accessed through AR markers. The design process included creating a storyboard and navigation structure, while material collection was carried out by gathering images, 3D models of songket fabrics, and other supporting assets. The application was assembled using Unity 3D with Vuforia SDK integration for marker detection, and 3D objects were created using Blender. Testing was carried out using the Black Box Testing method to ensure that all features ran as expected, with the results showing that all components functioned properly. The application was then distributed via Google Drive to make it accessible to the general public. The research results show that SongPalar is capable of displaying songket motifs along with their philosophical information in an immersive and interactive manner, thereby potentially increasing public interest, knowledge, and appreciation of Palembang Songket while also serving as an effective means of cultural preservation.
