PROFIL PASIEN YANG MENJALANI OPERASI MITRAL VALVE REPLACEMENT DI RSUP MOHAMMAD HOESIN
Background: Mitral Valve Replacement surgery is the surgical replacement of the mitral valve with an artificial valve. Clinical informations regarding mitral valve replacement surgery are needed to help predict complications and mortality after surgery. This study aims to determine the profile of patients undergoing Mitral Valve Replacement surgery at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang from January to December 2024. Methods: This is a descriptive study using secondary data from the medical records of patients undergoing Mitral Valve Replacement surgery at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital, Palembang. Results: About 43 patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital Palembang were included in the study. The majority of MVR patients were adults (81.4%), female (55.8%), had regurgitant valve abnormalities (48.8%), given mechanical valves (76.7%) as an artificial valves. Most prevalent etiology was rheumatic heart disease (65.1%). Most patients had no comorbidities (53.5%), had an ejection fraction of >50% (86%), no atrial fibrillation (51.2%), and no valvular vegetation (95.3%). The majority of patients were hospitalized in the ICU for >3 days (88.4%). The overall mortality was 7%. Conclusion: The majority of patients undergoing Mitral Valve Replacement surgery were 25-59 years of age, female, had mitral regurgitant lesions, used mechanical valves, had rheumatic heart disease, had no comorbidities, had an ejection fraction of >50%, no atrial fibrillation, no valvular vegetation, had a length of stay >3 days, and survived.
