STRATEGI MEMPERTAHANKAN PRODUKSI DAN PENDAPATAN PETANI KARET PADA MASA PANDEMI COVID 19 DI DESA UJUNG TANJUNG KECAMATAN BANYUASIN 3 KABUPATEN BANYUASIN

The Covid-19 pandemic can cause disruption to the distribution and production of agricultural products as well as food products in meeting people’s needs. The condition of Indonesia, which is an archipelagic country with a very large area, and inadequate infrastructure, as well as relatively expensive transportation costs, is a challenge for the government to provide and distribute agricultural commodities which are food for its citizens, especially in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic. The objectives of this research are as follows: (1) Describe the rubber cultivation behavior carried out by farmers before and during the Covid 19 pandemic conditions in Ujung Tanjung Village, Banyuasin 3 District, Banyuasin Regency; (2) Calculate the income of rubber farmers before and during the Covid 19 pandemic conditions in Ujung Tanjung Village, Banyuasin 3 District, Banyuasin Regency; (3) Formulate a strategy to maintain production and income of rubber farmers during the Covid 19 pandemic conditions in Ujung Tanjung Village, Banyuasin 3 District, Banyuasin Regency. This research will be carried out in Ujung Tanjung Village, Banyuasin 3 District, Banyuasin Regency. The selection of this research location was carried out purposively based on the consideration that Ujung Tanjung Village is one of the locations where the majority of the population works as rubber farmers for their main livelihood. Data collection in the field will be carried out in June 2023. The method used in this research is a survey method. The sample taken in this research was 32 respondents. The data collected in this research is primary data and secondary data. Data obtained from the field is collected then analyzed and described. Then presented tabulatedly, processed mathematically using computer programs such as Microsoft Excel 2007 and SPSS 20.0. 2. In carrying out strategies to maintain production and income of rubber farmers, rubber farmers in Ujung Tanjung Village carry out strategies to maintain income such as trading, using empty land to process it into productive land, and fishing in rivers.
