PENGARUH EDUCATION FAN (EDUFAN) TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN IBU HAMIL TENTANG PENCEGAHAN STUNTING
Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem in children resulting from inadequate nutritional intake during the first 1,000 days of life (the first 1,000 days). Pregnant women's knowledge of stunting prevention needs to be optimized from early pregnancy, as it is one of the key factors influencing the occurrence of stunting. Efforts to improve pregnant women's knowledge can be achieved through health education using effective and easily understandable media. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Education Fan (Edufan) on pregnant women's knowledge of stunting prevention. This study used a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest with control group design. The sample consisted of 36 pregnant women who were divided into an intervention group receiving Edufan-based education and a control group receiving leaflet-based education, with 18 respondents in each group. The research instrument was a knowledge questionnaire on stunting prevention. Data were analyzed using paired t-tests and independent t-tests with a significance level of a= 0.05. The results showed a significant increase in knowledge in the Edufan group, with mean scores rising from 11.67 to 17.39 (p 0.000). In the leaflet group, knowledge also increased significantly, from 11.33 to 13.11 (p=0.004), but the improvement was lower than that observed in the Edufan group. The independent t-test indicated that the increase in knowledge in the Edufan group was 4.28 points higher than in the leaflet group (p=0.000). These findings indicate that the Education Fan (Edufan) is more effective than leaflet-based education in improving pregnant women's knowledge of stunting prevention. Edufan media are therefore recommended as an alternative health education medium in health care facilities, particularly within maternal and child health programs and antenatal education classes.
