Convention Center is a facility designed to be a meeting center that can hold various types of events, both local, national, and international. "Convention" refers to a large meeting or event, while "center" indicates the main location where the activity is held. Convention center buildings usually focus more on the industrial, trade, and service sectors, by providing space for various events such as exhibitions, conferences, or other large events. The purpose of building this convention center is to expand the availability of event venues in the city of Palembang and provide facilities that can be used by various communities from all over South Sumatra. The presence of this facility is expected to increase the number of MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, Exhibition) buildings in Palembang, which can have a positive impact on economic growth, especially in the business sector. In addition, this convention center is also a location for holding large events, exhibitions, and new gathering places, which can also introduce the potential and culture of the region. In its design, contemporary architecture is applied with an emphasis on contemporary architecture as a style that is currently developing and popular. However, it should be noted that the term 'contemporary' is different from 'modern' in the world of architecture. As previously explained, contemporary refers to designs that are trending or widely liked at this time.
