PERENCANAAN RANCANGAN SUMP DAN KAPASITAS POMPA PADA PENAMBANGAN BATUBARA PT ULIMA NITRA SITE BANYAN KOALINDO LESTARI KABUPATEN MUSI RAWAS UTARA, SUMATERA SELATAN

Tunaifi, Rendi - Personal Name;

Coal mining activities at PT Ulima Nitra Site BKL use an open-pit mining method (surface mining). The open-pit mining method forms a large depression, causing water entering the pit to potentially accumulate and create ponding if not properly managed, as the water comes from runoff flowing into the pit. Based on field observations, the main sump at PT Ulima Nitra Site BKL, with a volume of 34,980 m³, an upper length of 159 meters, a bottom length of 22 meters, and a depth of 10 meters, is unable to accommodate the volume of water entering the mine, resulting in the mining front becoming flooded during heavy rainfall. Therefore, an evaluation of the main sump design is required to address the water issue. Designing a new main sump is expected to overcome the water problems in Pit Pt Ulima Nitra. Based on rainfall data from the past 10 years, the maximum daily rainfall recorded is 21.24 mm/day, with a rainfall intensity of 42.48 mm/hour. Consequently, the runoff entering the pit reaches 1,200 m³/day, in addition to groundwater inflow of 9,000 m³/day, resulting in a total water inflow of 10,200 m³/day. To address this issue, a new sump with a trapezoidal shape, a depth of 10 meters, and a planned volume of 72,000 m³ was designed. The dimensions calculated include an upper width of 91 meters and a bottom width of 79 meters, producing a final volume of 72,610 m³. The sump is planned to be constructed at an elevation of 40 meters to prevent water from flowing toward the mining front and haul roads. By using a DND 200 pump with an actual discharge of 0.31 m³/s and a capacity of 12,600 m³/day, the time required to empty the sump is 6 days and 6 hours. Thus, the new sump design is expected to effectively address the water issues in PT Ulima Nitra Site BKLAbstrak juga harus ditulis dalam bahasa Inggris dengan ketentuan seperti abstrak dalam bahasa Indonesia.
