MAKNA SIMBOLIK ISI SESAJEN DALAM KESENIAN KUDA LUMPING “KUDA BHIRAWA” DI DESA TEKOREJO KECAMATAN BUAY MADANG TIMUR KABUPATEN OKU TIMUR
The offerings in the Kuda Lumping art are considered negative by most people, they consider these offerings as a medium to summon spirits to possess the Kuda Lumping dancers. It is thought that possession in the art of Kuda Lumping occurs because it is caused by the Kuda Lumping offerings, as a result of the public's perception that it is mystical and negative, causing people to start abandoning or even eliminating this culture without knowing the true meaning of the offerings. This research aims to determine the symbolic meaning of the contents of offerings in the Kuda Lumping art "Kuda Bhirawa" in Tekorejo village. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research by conducting interviews, observation and documentation. This research uses Roland Barthes' Semiotics theory which has three elements, namely Denotation, Connotation and Myth. The results of this research show that there is non-verbal communication in the Kuda Lumping art "Kuda Bhirawa" in the form of body movements and paralanguage. Then there are also symbolic meanings in the fillings of offerings such as ingkung chicken, yellow rice, plantains, frankincense, cok bakal, parem, buceng, coconut, flower water, and coffee, tea, drinking water.
