GAMBARAN GENITALIA EKSTERNA PADA PASIEN ANAK DENGAN DISORDERS OF SEXUAL DEVELOPMENT (DSD) DI RS DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG

Background: Disorders of Sexual Development (DSD) is a congenital condition with a prevalence of 1:4,500–5,500 live births that can result in ambiguous genitalia and endocrine emergencies. External genitalia examination in newborns is often not comprehensive, risking sex assignment errors and diagnostic delays. This study aims to provide an overview of external genitalia features in pediatric patients with DSD at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study using secondary data from medical records at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang during the 2023–2025 period. Results: Among 105 DSD patients, most patients are male (61,9%) and were referrals (52,4%). External genitalia findings revealed hypospadias (42,9%), micropenis (24,7%), clitoromegaly (20,9%), and UDT (19,0%) as the most common abnormalities. The most prevalent clinical diagnoses were hypospadias (42,9%) and CAH with its variants (34,4%). The most frequent ICD-10 diagnoses were hypospadias unspecified (40,0%) and CAH associated with enzyme deficiency (39,0%). Conclusion: The incidence of DSD at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang during the period of January 2023–June 2025 demonstrated the highest distribution with hypospadias and CAH as the predominant diagnoses.
