ANALISIS INDEKS KUALITAS TANAH PADA LAHAN KELAPA SAWIT PT SAWIT MAS SEJAHTERA DIVISI 5 KABUPATEN MUSI BANYUASIN SUMATERA SELATAN
Soil quality is the ability of the soil to support its various functions, on soils that have been managed or are still natural. The Soil Quality Index (SQI) is an index calculated based on the value and weight of each soil quality indicator. The chemical properties of the soil are one of the constituents of soil quality. Soil chemicals are linked to the availability of essential nutrients necessary for the growth and development of palm oil crops. If such nutrients are met, the metabolism of the plant body will run well, which in turn will produce a high productivity of palms oil. The determination of the Soil Quality Index of a land will be useful for drafting the direction of sustainable land management. Soil quality cannot be measured directly, but is assumed through the observation of the dynamic conditions of indicators - indicators of soil quality. The purpose of this research is to find out the Soil Quality Index on the palm oil land of PT. Sawit Mas Sejahtera Division 5, Kab. Musi Banyuasin Sumatera South. The method used in this study is the Semi-Detail level survey method and uses the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Minimum Data Set (MDS) method using the SPSS data processor application. Parameters observed include soil chemical properties, namely, pH, C-Organic, N, P, K, and Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC). The results of this study show that the Soil Quality Index (SQI) at the research site is on bad criteria up to high with the soil quality index (SQI) values of 0.31 to 0.67. The available indicators N and K are the main components that make up the Soil Quality Index (SQI). C – organic and pH are the second component, and P as the third component.
