Hypertension is a condition characterized by blood pressure levels exceeding normal limits. One of the common problems experienced by patients with hypertension is impaired sleep quality. Sleep quality in hypertensive patients can be influenced by various factors, including blood pressure, stress levels, and anxiety levels. However, previous studies have reported inconsistent findings regarding the relationships among these factors and sleep quality. This study aimed to examine the relationships between blood pressure, stress levels, and anxiety levels and sleep quality among outpatient hypertensive patients at Siti Fatimah Regional General Hospital. This study used a cross-sectional design with a total sample of 208 respondents selected using purposive sampling. The research instruments included a digital sphygmomanometer to measure blood pressure, the Perceived Stress Scale-10 (PSS-10) to assess stress levels, the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) to assess anxiety levels, and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) Indonesian version to measure sleep quality. The Spearman rank correlation test showed a significant relationship between blood pressure and sleep quality (p-value = 0.000, r = 0.414), a significant relationship between stress levels and sleep quality (p-value = 0.000, r = 0.456), and a significant relationship between anxiety levels and sleep quality (p-value 0.000, r 0.555). These findings indicate that blood pressure, stress levels, and anxiety levels are significantly associated with sleep quality, with moderate strength and positive correlation. It can be concluded that blood pressure, stress levels, and anxiety levels are significantly associated with sleep quality among hypertensive patients. The findings suggest that healthcare professionals should conduct long-term monitoring of blood pressure, stress levels, and anxiety levels as part of efforts to improve sleep quality in patients with hypertension.
