PENGUJIAN KADAR AIR, DENSITAS, DAN MUTU ORGANOLEPTIK TEH HITAM ORTODOKS DI PT. PERKEBUNAN NUSANTARA VII UNIT PAGAR ALAM
This research aimed to determine the water content, density, and organoleptic qualities of orthodox black tea grade 1 and grade 2 from January to May 2023 at the PTPN VII Unit Pagar Alam. The study used experimental methods by analyzing the water levels, densities, and quality of the organoleptic properties of orthodox black teas grade 1 consisting of BOP, BPOPF, PF, DUST, BP, BT, and grade 2, consisting of DUST II and FAN II. The research's results in the PTPN period January-May 2023 showed that the average water content of grade 1 orthodox black tea ranged from 4.78% to 4.96%, while grade 2 orthodox black teas ranged between 5.24% to 5.61%. For grade 1 water levels, i.e. BOP, BOPF, PF, DUST, BP, and BT, these values ranged within the prescribed standard range, between 4% and 6%. Meanwhile, at grade 2, both DUST II and FAN II also met the same criteria with an average water content value of 5.24% respectively. The density of grade 1 orthodox black tea rods ranged from 252.4 kg/m³ up to 400.6 kg/m³ supelempt , and the density values of grade 2 orthodox black tea rods ranged from 237.4 kg/m³ to 309.6 kg/m³, the densities that met the standards were only DUST and BT. Orthodox black tea quality I range from 50.9 to 54.3, while grade II ranges from 45.9 to 47.9. Orthodox black tea organoleptic test results were clasisifiel in medium quality.
