UJI AKTIVITAS DIURETIK FRAKSI ETIL ASETAT DAUN GAMAL (Gliricidia sepium) TERHADAP TIKUS PUTIH JANTAN GALUR WISTAR
Hypertension provides a major risk factor for cardiovascular and kidney disease. One of a therapy that used to treat a hypertension is diuretics. Gamal (Gliricidia sepium)contains flavonoid compounds which have diuretic effect. This study aims to determined activity of ethyl acetate fraction of gamal leaves as diuretic by measuring urine volume output and Na⁺, Cl⁻, dan K⁺ ion contents. The animal test was divided into 6 groups, normal group (distilled water), negative group (Na CMC 0.5%), positive group (furosemide), and the treatment groups 1, 2, and 3 were given ethyl acetate fraction of gamal leaves at dose 62.5mg/KgBW, 125mg/KgBW, and 250mg/KgBW. Data were analyzed by one way ANOVA. The result of the analysis of assay showed that urine volume output and Na⁺, Cl⁻, dan K⁺ ion levels at dose 250mg/KgBW were not significantly different from the positive control group (p>0.05). The effective dose of ethyl acetate fraction of gamal leaves is 91.63mg/KgBW. Increasing the dose provides an increase of urine volume and ion contents in the urine.
