ANALISIS KADAR AIR DAN BOBOT ISI TANAH GAMBUT BERDASARKAN VARIASI KEDALAMAN DENGAN TEMPERATUR SAMA DI DESA SEPUCUK KABUPATEN OGAN KOMERING ILIR
Peat is a specific ecosystem that is usually waterlogged, formed from the accumulation of decaying plant organic matter that has weathered and then accumulated over thousands of years. In South Sumatra, the largest peatland is located in the Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) district with an area of 769 thousand hectares. This research was conducted to determine the physical properties of the moisture content and content weight of peat soil in the Sepucuk area of OKI district. Samples were used based on depth variations of 1 meter, 2 meters and 3 meters through heating in an oven using a temperature of 100ºC. The number of samples was 27 samples of each depth from 3 passes. Based on the results of data processing, the average water content obtained for a depth of 1 meter is 123.17%, 2 meters with a value of 324.13% and a depth of 3 meters 628.05%. The average value of the weight content of 1 meter depth is 0.217 gr/cm³. The depth of 2 meters is 0.114 gr/cm³ and the depth of 3 meters is 0.068 gr/cm³. The longer the heating time, the higher the percentage of water content lost and the lower the content weight of the peat soil. The deeper the peat soil, the more water it contains and the lower the soil's ability to bind water.
