RESPON TANAMAN SORGUM (Sorghum bicolor L.) VARIETAS BIOGUMA 2 TERHADAP TINGGI PEMOTONGAN BATANG DAN DOSIS PUPUK NPK
This research aims to determine the optimal stem cutting height, NPK fertilizer dosage per plant, and to find the best combination of interactions between stem cutting height and fertilizer dosage on sorghum plants. The study was conducted at the Experimental Farm (3°13'23.4"S 104°38'46.8"E), Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya Sub-district, Ogan Ilir Regency. The research took place from June to August 2023. Aplied in this research a Factorial Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with two factors. The first factor was the cutting height with four levels, and the second factor was NPK dosage with four levels. This resulted in 16 combinations, with each treatment repeated 3 times, yielding 48 experimental units with two plants per unit. Stem cutting lengths (height from the ground) consisted of four levels: T0 = 0 cm, T1 = 25 cm, T2 = 50 cm, T3 = 75 cm. The NPK fertilizer dosage per plant consisted of four treatments: P0 = 0 g NPK, P1 = 5 g NPK, P2 = 7.5 g NPK, P3 = 10 g NPK. Data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and using Least Significant Difference (LSD) test for further analysis. The results showed that there was an interaction between NPK fertilizer per plant and stem cutting height on the height of shoots in the 5th week and had no significant effect on leaf greenness index, leaf length, stem diameter, panicle length, panicle weight, and seed count. The research results indicated that the combination of NPK fertilizer dosage and stem cutting height significantly affected shoot height and shoot number. The tallest shoots were found in the treatment combination of 10 g NPK per plant with 0 cm cutting height, with an average height of 184,23 cm.
