This research examines "Rationality in Choosing Celibacy (Life Without Marriage) in the Celibacy Community of St. Paul's Secondary Seminary Palembang". The purpose of this research is to describe the forms of individual rationality in choosing celibacy (life without marriage) in the Celibacy Community of St. Paul's Secondary Seminary Palembang. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a case study research strategy. Data collection was carried out through interviews with 1 key informant; namely the head of St. Paulus Secondary Seminary Palembang, 11 main informants; namely Seminarians (students), and corroborated by 2 supporting informants; namely parents of Seminarians (students), documentation and literature study and then analyzed using the theory of social action proposed by Max Weber. The results of this study indicate the rationality chosen by individuals in choosing celibacy (life without marriage) in the Celibacy Community of St. Paul's Secondary Seminary Palembang, namely: (1)Aspiration to Become a Pastor, (2) Want to Continue School, (3)Having a Value Principle that Life Must be Independ. (4)Personal Experience of Joining Pastor Ministry, (5)Emotional Experience. Apart from that, the form of rationality carried out by individuals is Value-Oriented Rationality; based on the Scripture verse Matthew 19:12 and the Catholic Church's Code of Canon Law numbers 668, 599, 602.
