ANALISIS KADAR POLIFENOL DAN AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN ECENG GONDOK (Eichhornia crassipes)
Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) is an aquatic plant that is considered a weed that causes environmental problems and can be used as a source of antioxidants. The aimed to analyze the content of polyphenolic compounds and antioxidant activity in water hyacinth plants (Eichhornia crassipes) in different locations. In this research, functional group identification was also carried out using FT-IR. This research was carried out experimentally in a laboratory using the Randomized Group Design (RDB) method, with 3 treatment levels P1 = Lubuklinggau P2 = Palembang P3 = Banyuasin. This study was conducted to determine the extract yield, total polyphenol test, antioxidant activity using the DPPH method, and FT-IR analysis. The yield of water hyacinth extract in the Lubuklinggau treatment was 17.62 ± 2.83%, Palembang was 22.79 ± 1.01% and Banyuasin was 26.59 ± 4.68%. Total polyphenols in each treatment were Lubuklinggau 341.03±60.27 mg GAE/g dry sample, Palembang 183.17±21.13 mg GAE/g dry sample and Banyuasin 148±37.58 mg GAE/g dry sample . The IC50 value of water hyacinth plant extract with different sampling locations respectively was Lubuklinggau 170.75 ± 40.1 ppm, Palembang 186.46 ± 53.1 ppm and Banyuasin 334.17 ± 44.4 ppm. FT-IR spectra data of water hyacinth plant extract with different locations in the first part, the wavelength of Banyuasin 366.43 cm-1, Lubuklinggau 3274.82 cm-1 and Palembang 3276.51 cm-1 shows the O-H functional group, one of the compound functional groups polyphenol group.
