PERTUMBUHAN DAN PRODUKSI TANAMAN JAGUNG MANIS (Zea mays saccharata Sturt.) AKIBAT PEMBERIAN AMPAS TEBU DAN PUPUK KANDANG AYAM
The aim of this research was to determine the growth and production of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt.) due to application of sugarcane bagasse and chicken manure. The research was carried out at the Research Station of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra (3°13'20.0"S 104°38'49.2"E). The research was carried out from December 2023 to February 2024. The research used a Randomized Block Design with 3 blocks (replications) and 8 treatment levels, each experimental plot contained 16 crops (4 sample crops and 12 non sample crops), so the total number was 384 crops. The 8 treatment levels (Sugarcane Bagasse : Chicken Manure) used in the research were: A= Control (without sugarcane bagasse and chicken manure), B= 0 kg : 4 kg, C= 2 kg : 3 kg, D= 4 kg : 2 kg, E= 6 kg : 1 kg, F= 4 kg : 4 kg, G= 6 kg : 6 kg, H= 8 kg : 0 kg. Based on the research, it can be concluded that the application of various treatments of bagasse and chicken manure mixed with the soil had a very significant effect on plant height, stem diameter, biomass fresh weight, biomass dry weight, number of seeds per row, length of cobs with husks, length of cobs without husks, diameter of cobs with husks, diameter of cobs without husks, weight of cobs with husks by plant, weight of cobs without husks by plant, weight of cobs with husks per plot, weight of cobs without husks per plot and had a significant effect on the variable number of rows per cobs. However, it had not significant effect on the leaf greenness level variable. Treatment that provided the best growth and results was treatment with a dose of 6 kg sugarcane baggase : 6 kg chicken manure (treatment G).
