PENGGUNAAN BAHASA GAUL PADA SISWA SMA SRIJAYA NEGARA PALEMBANG DAN IMPLIKASINYA TERHADAP PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA INDONESIA

This study aims to describe the use of slang in students of SMA Srijaya Negara Palembang and its implications for Indonesian language learning in grade XII of high school. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with the data source taken from students of Srijaya State High School Palembang. The researcher used a data analysis technique with five stages. 86.2% of the students who answered the questionnaire said that they used slang with their peers more often than their parents, they knew or got the slang vocabulary usually from the surrounding environment and social media and they stated that the slang helped them in the communication process, especially with their peers. 124 forms of slang were found used by students of SMA Srijaya Negara Palembang. Of these, there are 28 acronym forms, 34 abreviation forms, 10 in contraction form, 7 in clipping form, 5 in the form of walik variety, 25 in the form of foreign languages, 6 in the form of associations, 3 in the form of original words, and 7 in the form of new words. The implications of this learning are using the 2013 curriculum of grade XII in learning KD 3.9 Analyzing the content and language of novels.
