FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN KEJADIAN DISMENORE PADA REMAJA DI SMP KARTIKA II-1 ILIR TIMUR II PALEMBANG

Fitriyah, Afifah Nur - Personal Name;

Kata Kunci: Faktor dominan, Kejadian dismenore, RemajaMenstrual pain or dysmenorrhea experienced by almost all women during menstruation such as discomfort untill severe pain. Previous studies have found factors that can influence dysmenorrhea in adolescents, including age of menarche, duration of menstruation, body mass index, family history, stress levels, exposure to cigarette smoke, exposure to information about dysmenorrhea, coffee consumption, and exercise habits. This study aims to identify the most dominant factors with the incidence of dysmenorrhea in adolescents at SMP Kartika Il-1 Ilir Timur II Palembang. This study used a cross-sectional study design with the sample were 45 female adolescents taken using a total sampling technique. Data collection used a research questionnaire that had been tested for validity. Data analysis was carried out using the chi-square test and backward logistic regression. The results showed a relationship between the incidence of dysmenorrhea and age of menarche (P = 0.05), exposure to dysmenorrhea information (P - 0.045), and exercise habits (P = 0.005) while there was no relationship between the incidence of dysmenorrhea and the duration of menstruation (p = 0.145), body mass index (P = 0.235), family history (P = 0.227), stress levels (P = 0.152), exposure to cigarette smoke (P = 0.634), and coffee consumption (P = 0.286). The most dominant factor related to the incidence of dysmenorrhea was age of menarche with an Exp (B) value = 0.351. The relationship between age of menarche and dysmenorrhea showed that early menarche can increase the risk of menstrual pain / dysmenorrhea. This occurs because of faster hormonal changes in adolescents with uterine conditions that are still in the development stage and are not fully ready to face the menstrual cycle optimally. These results provide important implications for educational interventions at schools, especially in improving health education about dysmenorrhea and emphasizing the importance of understanding about menstrual cycle and dysmenorrhea management through a healthy lifestyle. Keywords: Associated factors, Incidence of dysmenorrhea, Adolescents
