PERUBAHAN PENGGUNAAN LAHAN BERBASIS DATA SPASIAL DI KECAMATAN RAMBUTAN KABUPATEN BANYUASIN
This research aims to determine the extent of land use change, as well as the factors and impacts of swamp land use change that occurred in 2018 and 2024. The study was conducted from December 2024 to May 2025 using spatial analysis. Mapping was carried out through direct surveys at the research location in Rambutan Subdistrict, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra, and processed using QGIS software. The methods used in this research include mapping, literature review, direct observation, and land use change analysis. The direct observation method was employed to determine sample points representing different land cover types, with 34 sample points selected, each representing a specific land cover category (water, trees, swampland, agricultural land, built area, bare ground, shrubland). The land use maps for 2018 and 2024 were processed using ESRI imagery data in QGIS, followed by an overlay analysis to determine changes in each land cover type between 2018 and 2024. The results showed both increases and decreases in various land cover categories: water -0.87 ha, trees -9.62 ha, swampland +6.40 ha, agricultural land +17.91 ha, built area +5.38 ha, bare ground -0.30 ha, and shrubland -38.15 ha, with a total land use change of 39.32 ha. The primary factors contributing to land use change comprise high rainfall intensity, the presence of lowland topography, population growth, and land conversion practices. Such transformations produce a range of impacts, both beneficial and detrimental. On the positive side, they may enhance agricultural productivity and support infrastructure development. However, they also bring about negative consequences, including heightened flood risk, reduction of natural land cover, and a decline in overall environmental quality.
